Balance in Progress was named to reflect that balance isn’t a final destination — it’s something we shape, adjust, and redefine as our lives evolve. The name highlights the reality that well-being isn’t about having everything perfectly figured out; it’s about moving forward with intention, even when life feels messy or uncertain.
Balance in Progress embodies the idea that anyone can pursue their goals, honour their health, and build a fulfilling life at the same time, in ways that feel realistic, personal, and sustainable for them.
Balance in Progress was born from a personal journey of constantly striving for achievement and performance, leading to recurring burnout. After years of feeling stuck in this cycle of depression and overachievement, I knew something had to change. But what? Upon researching ways to overcome burnout, all I could find were tips on how to “slow down” or “build the perfect routine.” Yet, I wasn’t ready to slow down, as doing so felt like letting go of my goals, and all the cookie-cutter plans didn’t seem to work for me. The pressure to make the perfect change, and the internal battle between achievement and health, only pushed me further into depression. I knew, then and there, that if I wanted to truly get better, I had to find my own way of doing things, and redefine what life balance meant to me.
Finally, I came to understand that holistic well-being isn’t about sleeping enough, eating the “right” foods, or meditating for two hours a day. It’s about finding what works for you. It’s about putting in place practical, realistic strategies that allow you to continue building the life you want, without compromising your health.
Today, I work full-time in my dream job while building a business on the side. I have a fulfilling social life, and I feel healthier than ever.
